1. Several factors affecting the efficiency of centrifugal pump sets
The efficiency of a centrifugal pump is the product of mechanical, volumetric and hydraulic efficiency. The efficiency of the pump set is the product of the pump efficiency and the efficiency of the motor. The main factors that cause the low efficiency of centrifugal pump sets are as follows.
1. The efficiency of the pump itself is the most fundamental influence. Pumps under the same operating conditions can vary in efficiency by more than 15%.
2. The operating condition of the centrifugal pump is lower than the rated working condition of the pump, and the pump efficiency is low and the energy consumption is high.
3. The efficiency of the motor remains basically unchanged in use. Therefore, it is important to choose a high-efficiency motor.
4. The influence of mechanical efficiency is mainly related to the design and manufacturing quality. Once the pump is selected, the post-management impact is small.
5. Hydraulic loss includes hydraulic friction and local resistance loss. After the pump runs for a certain period of time, it will inevitably cause the surface wear of the impeller and guide vane and other components, increase the hydraulic loss, and reduce the hydraulic efficiency.
6. The volume loss of the pump is also known as leakage loss, which includes three kinds of leakage loss: impeller sealing ring, interstage and axial force balance mechanism. The level of volumetric efficiency is not only related to design and manufacturing, but also related to post-management. After the pump runs continuously for a certain time, the gap increases and the volumetric efficiency decreases due to the friction between the components.
7. The centrifugal pump is evacuated and idling due to the blockage of the filter cylinder and the air intake of the pipeline.
8. Before the pump starts, the employees do not pay attention to the preparation work before the centrifugal pump starts, and the basic operating procedures such as warm pumps, disc pumps, and perfusion pumps are not implemented thoroughly, which often causes cavitation of the pump, resulting in high pump noise, high vibration, and low pump efficiency.
