The working principle of a centrifugal pump mainly relies on the rotation of the impeller. When the liquid is thrown out, the pressure near the impeller decreases, forming a low-pressure area. This low-pressure area is lower than the atmospheric pressure, so the external liquid enters the pump through the suction pipe under the action of atmospheric pressure. The liquid entering the pump is thrown out again by the rotation of the impeller and pressed into the outlet pipe. In this cycle, the liquid is continuously pumped out and discharged.
Before starting the centrifugal pump, the pump casing and water inlet pipe must be filled with water to prevent air from entering and the occurrence of air binding and cavitation. The pump casing is usually a volute casing, which not only limits the flow space of the liquid, but also helps convert the kinetic energy of the liquid into static pressure energy, thereby achieving the purpose of transporting the liquid.
