A jet pump is a fluid power pump. A fluid power pump has no mechanical transmission and mechanical working components. It uses the energy of another working fluid as a power source to transport low-energy liquids. It has good safety when used to pump flammable and explosive materials. A jet vacuum pump is a device that uses a high-speed jet through a nozzle to remove gas from a container to obtain a vacuum. It is also called a jet vacuum pump. In chemical production, the purpose is often to create a vacuum.

 

Industrial jet pumps are also called jet pumps and ejectors. A pump that uses the jet effect of a high-pressure working fluid to transport fluids. It consists of a nozzle, a mixing chamber, and an expansion tube. For smooth operation, a vacuum chamber (also called an inhalation chamber) is set at the throat; in order to allow the two fluids to be fully mixed, there is a mixing chamber behind the vacuum chamber. During operation, the working fluid is ejected from the nozzle at a very high speed, forming a low pressure in the vacuum chamber, so that the transported liquid is sucked into the vacuum chamber and then enters the mixing chamber. In the mixing chamber, the high-energy working fluid and the low-energy transported liquid are fully mixed, so that the energy is exchanged with each other, and the speed gradually becomes consistent. When entering the diffusion chamber from the throat, the speed slows down, and the static pressure rises, achieving the purpose of transporting the liquid.

 

The working fluid of the jet pump can be gas (air or steam) and liquid. Common ones include water vapor jet pumps, air jet pumps and water jet pumps. There is also a jet pump that uses oil as the medium, namely the oil diffusion pump and the oil booster pump, which are the main equipment used to obtain high vacuum or ultra-high vacuum.
